Make Your Memoir Remarkable

A recorded two hour lecture by Amy Jo Burns that will expand your thinking on memoir and inspire new and authentic writing. This offering also includes a worksheet of ten writing prompts to push your memoir to the next level, a list of helpful resources, plus access to a community of fellow memoirists.

The memoir lecture with Amy Jo Burns at The Resort was one of the best writing lectures I've been to, ever, and I've been working in creative writing for 30+ years.

Conveniently located in Long Island City, Queens, the Resort was originally founded as a "third space" for writers to create their work and build community, by writer and LIC Reading Series founder Catherine LaSota, along with her husband, filmmaker Karl Jacob.

As we weathered the pandemic together, we shifted our focus
from in-person desk rentals to a vibrant online community
supporting writers around the world.

We also plan to continue offering in person support to writers,
via special offerings, as we enter 2022.

We invite you to explore options for virtual community at the Resort, and to help us keep this vital creative space active as we weather the storm of this difficult time for so many in Queens and beyond.

Check out the website for our current options - we have a lot of exciting craft talks, writers accountability groups, and more on tap!

Subscribe to our mailing list in the Contact Us section or write to us at for more information.

We look forward to welcoming you to The Resort online now, and in person in the future for special events and offerings.
