What is...THE RESORT?

The Resort is a supportive writing community offering classes, a membership program, accountability options, and more, founded by writer and LIC Reading Series founder Catherine LaSota.
Catherine operates The Resort along with her husband, the filmmaker/podcaster Karl Jacob, from their neighborhood in Long Island City, Queens, NYC.
We serve writers in Queens and beyond, providing encouragement and resources to:
-
prioritize writing in your life
-
foster connections with other writers and publishing professionals
-
bring joy to the writing process
Join an international community of hundreds of writers who are working on memoirs, novels, stories, poetry, screenplays, and more. Our members develop consistent writing practices, submit their work more often, get published, win fellowships, and are awarded residencies. Most importantly of all, they develop a strong sense of themselves as writers and gain the benefits of community that are essential to a long writing life.
